Three ways in

Every one of them has an American-made chiller.

The difference between them is the tub, not the engineering. The part that has to keep working for a decade is built the same way in all three.

The part people worry about

Upkeep is two minutes a week.

Most people assume a cold plunge is a pool — chemicals, plumbing, a contractor. It isn't. Here is the whole truth about living with one.

2 min

Weekly maintenance

Rinse the basket filter. That's the routine on the Journey and the Pursuit. The Summit uses a commercial filter, replaced monthly.

120V

Standard outlet

3.9 amps in normal operation. No electrician, no dedicated circuit. Two units fit on a standard 15-amp line.

37°F

As cold as you'll want

Cools to roughly 37°F, though we recommend 45–55°F for recovery. Colder isn't better — we'll tell you why.

Plumbing required

No dedicated water line. Fill it with a garden hose or by hand, and go.

Most of this category is either a brand you'll never speak to or a unit that arrived in a shipping container. When something goes wrong with one of those, you find out what support really means.

Ours are engineered and assembled in East Tennessee. When you call, someone here picks up — and they can usually diagnose it over the phone, because they've had one apart.

“Try that with a tub that came in a container.”

Before you ask

The questions everyone asks

Do I need a plumber or an electrician?

Neither. There's no dedicated water line — you fill it with a standard garden hose or by hand. It runs on a normal 120V household outlet and draws about 3.9 amps, so no new circuit is needed.

How much maintenance is this really?

On the Journey and the Pursuit, rinse the basket filter weekly — more often if several people are plunging daily. On the Summit, the commercial-grade filter gets replaced monthly with a weekly rinse in between. That's it.

Can I just use my bathtub?

You can, but we don't recommend it. Our chillers are matched to insulated tubs. A standard bathroom tub has no insulation, so the chiller works far harder, holds temperature poorly and tends to develop condensation.

How cold does it actually get?

Down to roughly 37°F. For recovery we recommend running it between 45 and 55°F — colder is not automatically better, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you on a number.

Can the Journey live outside?

Yes. Bear in mind that any inflatable loses a little air pressure over time and needs topping off now and then, especially as temperatures drop.

How fast does it ship?

Free shipping, dispatched the next business day when it's in stock, with 2–5 business days in transit. If a model is out of stock, manufacturing lead time runs 2–4 weeks — and we'll tell you which it is before you pay.

Is financing available?

Yes, through Affirm, including 0% APR options depending on eligibility. Ask us and we'll walk you through current terms for the model you're considering.

I'm buying for a studio or clinic. Is this different?

Yes, and it should be. The Summit is the model built for volume. Tell us how many people a day and how many rooms, and we'll tell you what you actually need — including when the answer is fewer units than you asked about.
